The Two Beasts of Revelation - Las Dos Bestias del Apocalipsis

Many Historicists interpreters of Bible prophecy in the East and West have long understood the two beasts of Revelation 13 (and the little horns of Daniel 7/8 ) as having fulfillment with the rise of Islam and the Papacy. Both were to reign for a period of "42 months" or 1260 years. For example, George Stanley Faber published a book in 1805 covering these two apostasies titled: "A dissertation on prophecies, that have been fulfilled, are now fulfilling, or will hereafter be fulfilled, relative to the Great Period of 1260 years; the Papal and Mohammedan apostasies."
 

However, it is interesting to note that even Jesus Himself appears to make reference to these two types of apostasies which was to come upon the Church in the Olivet Discourse. Jesus states that one would come from the "desert," and the other from the "secret chambers." He divides the categories referring to one as a "false prophet" while the other is called a "false Christ." In 622, a new monotheistic religion began out of the DESERT of Arabia and "waxed exceedingly great" (Daniel 8 ) and by "by peace will destroy many" (Daniel 8 ) by a new prophet of God, while another rose through a new temporal and religious power elected by a "Papal Conclave," that is a private meeting or secret assembly of bishops, or the SECRET CHAMBERS. Hence the First Beast of Revelation that rose from the "sea" or the remote uninhabited desert regions of Arabia and is called a "false prophet" which was to come from the "desert. The other is called a "false Christ" who claimed to be the "Vicar of Christ" (also referenced with the phrase "like a lamb" in Revelation 13) who comes from the vote held within the SECRET CHAMBERS or "inner rooms" out of the "earth" or the civilized regions of the Roman Empire.
 

Thus, the two types of apostasies described in the Olivet Discourse align with the historical description of the two beasts of Revelation 13 and serve to further identify exactly where the beasts would arise from within the "sea" and the "earth." That is, from the desert and secret chambers.

Muchos intérpretes historicistas de la profecía bíblica en Oriente y Occidente han entendido durante mucho tiempo que las dos bestias de Apocalipsis 13 (y los cuernos pequeños de Daniel 7/8) se han cumplido con el surgimiento del Islam y el Papado. Ambos reinarían por un período de "42 meses" o 1260 años. Por ejemplo, George Stanley Faber publicó un libro en 1805 que cubría estas dos apostasías titulado: "Una disertación sobre profecías, que se han cumplido, se están cumpliendo ahora, o se cumplirán en el futuro, en relación con el Gran Período de 1260 años; el Papa y Apostasías musulmanas."
